4月10日，美国前财政部长耶伦在接受美国有线电视新闻网（CNN）采访时表示，特朗普政府的关税政策是她所见过的“政府在原本运转良好的经济基础上进行的最严重自残”。耶伦说，美国经济衰退的可能性因此上升，如果由她来给特朗普政府的经济政策打分的话，那将是“不及格”。
