航运界网消息，4月7日，日本邮船（NYK）官宣布已签约建造其首艘甲醇双燃料VLCC，并获得了长期租约的支持。
具体而言，4月4日，NYK与日本造船(Nippon Shipyard)签署了建造1艘VLCC的合同，该船将配备可以使用甲醇和传统重油的双燃料的主机，并与Idemitsu Tanker签署了长期租约。该船将由NYK与Idemitsu Tanker、IINO Kaiun Kaisha和日本造船共同设计。
NYK未披露新造船价格，该轮预计2028年交付。
