中国地震台网正式测定：3月28日14时20分在缅甸（北纬21.85度，东经95.95度）发生7.9级地震，震源深度30千米。据新华社，缅甸最大城市仰光震感强烈。
另据央视新闻，云南多地有震感。泰国全国有震感，曼谷震感持续数分钟，民众纷纷离开高层建筑，涌到街上。
