Mum put her head round the door

and shouted, “Molly! Time for bed!

Wash your face, brush your teeth…

make sure the bath is empty,

pick up ALL your clothes…

and your books…

tidy away your toys,

give Dolly a kiss,

and get into bed!

“I’ll be up to read you a story!”

7点32分（又15秒），

妈妈把头靠在门上，

大声喊道:“莫莉！该睡觉啦！

洗脸刷牙去吧…

要先确认一下浴缸是空的，

拿上你所有的衣服…

还有你的书…

收拾好你的玩具，

给娃娃一个吻，然后就去上床睡觉！

“我马上上来给你讲故事！”

“In a minute!!!” She hollered.

Molly was very busy.

(Molly was always busy)

“等一下！！！”

她喊道。

莫莉很忙的。

（莫莉总是很忙）

“A minute,” thought Molly.

“Time to make myself look nice.”

Molly thought that she

might use lipstick, mascara,

cotton wool, two boxes of tissues,

and a bottle of perfume.

Lovely black eyeliner

(just like Mummy)

Beautiful lips

(and a kiss for Mummy)

Perfect!

“就等一分钟，”莫莉想，

“是时候让自己看起来更漂亮了。”

莫莉想着她可能会用口红、

睫毛膏、棉花、

两盒纸巾和一瓶香水。

还有可爱的黑色眼线笔

（就像妈妈的一样）

美丽的嘴唇

（给妈妈一个吻）

太完美了！

“A minute,” thought Molly.

“Time to clean the bathroom.”

Molly thought that she

ought to clean the bath,

the sink, the walls,

two bars of soap,

and her favourite bear.

Scrub the taps

(and shampoos the carpet.)

Polish the walls

(and dry the carpet.)

That’ll do…

“再等一下，”莫莉想，

“该打扫卫生间了。”

莫莉认为她应该要清洁浴缸、

水槽、墙壁、

两块肥皂和她最喜欢的熊。

擦洗水龙头

（洗地毯）。

擦亮墙壁 （并擦干地毯 ）

这样就可以了…

“A minute,” thought Molly.

“Time to do some washing.”

Molly thought that

she should wash her shirts,

socks, jumpers,

two colouring books,

and her trainers.

Into the machine

(turn ALL the dials.)

Add the powder

(empty the box.)

Done…

“还要等一下，”莫莉想，

“还要洗衣服。”

莫莉想着她要洗她的衬衫、

袜子、毛衣、

两本涂色书和运动鞋。

放入洗衣机

（转动所有的转盘）。

加入洗衣粉

（空出盒子）。

完成啦…

“A minute,” thought Molly.

“Time to bake something nice.”

Molly thought that she would need flour,

jam, eggs, two slices of bread,

and a packet of crisps.

A quick stir

(and a lick of the spoon.)

Into the dish

(just time to lick the bowl.)

“最后再等一下，”莫莉想，

“该烤点好吃的了。”

莫莉想，我需要面粉、

果酱、鸡蛋、

两片面包和一包薯片。

快速搅拌

（然后舔一下勺子）。

放进盘子里

（再舔一舔碗）。

At 7:48 (and 21 seconds)

Mum put her head round

the door and shouted,

“Molly…?!”

7点48分（又21秒），

妈妈把头探进门，

喊道:

“莫莉…？！”

At 7:51 (and 49 seconds),

Mum put her head round Molly’s door.

“Good night, sleep well Molly,”

said Mum

and she kissed her gently.

But Molly was fast asleep…

(since exactly one minute ago.)

7点51分（49秒），

妈妈把头转向莫莉的门。

“晚安，睡个好觉，莫莉。”

妈妈说着轻轻地吻了她。

但莫莉睡得很熟…

（就在一分钟前。）
