澳大利亚政府当地时间2月16日发布声明称，为缓解住房市场压力，将对在澳外国人购买二手住房（新房、空地和期房除外）实施为期两年禁令，两年后将进行审查，以确定是否延长禁令。
目前在澳海外投资者已基本上被禁止购买现房，除非他们在澳大利亚工作或学习。而上述新政将意味着，2025年4月1日至2027年3月31日期间，因工作或学习而临时居住在澳大利亚的外国人也被禁止购买现房。
