北京时间1月20日，澳网男单第四轮，8号种子德米纳尔6-0、7-6(5)、6-3战胜20岁美国小将米克尔森，首次在家门口大满贯晋级八强。
开场后德米纳尔连赢8局，6-0赢下第一盘后，第二盘率先破发取得2-0领先，米克尔森在第十局回破，双方进入抢七。德米纳尔抢七7-6(5)再赢一盘。
