印度尼西亚准备效仿澳大利亚，限制儿童访问社交媒体。印尼通讯与信息部长穆迪雅（Meutya Hafid）当地时间1月13日宣布，政府正在起草相关法规，以设定访问社交媒体的最低年龄限制。不过，她没有透露正在考虑的具体年龄。穆迪雅称，总统已经讨论并批准了这一举措，作为保护儿童免受社交媒体平台上有害内容侵害的努力的一部分。
