Steam现已正式终止对Windows 7和Windows 8系统的支持，上述系统上的Steam客户端已无法正常运行。
此次变动后，Steam平台仅支持Windows 10、Windows 11、Linux和macOS等操作系统。而根据最新的Steam硬件调查数据显示，只有0.28%的用户依然在Windows 7系统上使用Steam，而使用Windows 8和8.1的玩家数量极少，仅占0.08%，被归类为“其他”。
据悉，Valve自2009年来一直保持着对Windows 7的支持，至今已有15年之久。
