当地时间11月1日，美国商务部和国家半导体技术中心的运营机构Natcast在声明中表示，加州森尼韦尔市有望成为“美国芯片”（CHIPS for America）计划第二座研发设施的所在地。
该设施将用于在芯片设计、电子设计自动化芯片、系统架构以及硬件安全方面开展先进半导体研究。
