From October 22 to 24, the 16th BRICS Summit was held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. Leaders and government delegations from more than 30 countries attended the meeting. This is the first summit after the significant expansion of BRICS. In January this year, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and Ethiopia officially participated in BRICS cooperation. The BRICS “big family” achieved a historic expansion, with the number of member countries increasing from five to ten. The BRICS cooperation mechanism has also officially entered a new era of “big BRICS cooperation”.
This BRICS summit has attracted strong attention from media around the world. On October 22, the summit press center for the 16th BRICS Summit, located in Kazan Convention and Exhibition Center, officially began operation. This center is the main workplace for registered media workers and provides services such as news release, technical support, information consultation, catering, and transportation for media workers from various countries attending the meeting. According to the organizers, more than 2,000 news media workers from 59 countries are participating in the reporting of this BRICS summit.
