在比赛的首盘，王楚钦2-3爆冷不敌伊朗小将法拉吉。不过第四盘王楚钦及时调整状态，3-1击败阿拉米扬，帮助中国3-1淘汰伊朗，晋级四强。
赛后，王楚钦在接受采访时表示：“第一场是自己问题，有些球没有处理特别谨慎小心，无谓失误过多，也没有调动起来。”
