2月12日，南都记者从汕头交警获悉，南澳岛停留车辆已达一万辆，岛内交通压力超饱和。同时，汕头交警表示，进南澳车辆已超饱和，车辆轮候进岛时间长，请市民、游客采取错峰进岛。

南都记者注意到，2月8日，汕头交警曾发布通知称，春节期间南澳岛将实行交通管制，其中提及“当岛内滞留车辆超过5000辆时将限制车辆进岛。”
