12月28日，记者从家属处得知，曾因父亲割肝救女故事受关注的重庆巫山5岁女孩小毅玲，因病情加重去世。据短视频账号“毅玲爸爸”介绍，2022年7月，单亲家庭成长的小毅玲基因突变被查出肝内胆汁淤积症。同年10月，父亲决定捐肝救女，术后孩子恢复良好转入普通病房。割肝救女的故事被报道后，众多网友关注起这对父女并献出爱心。2023年12月23日，小毅玲病情加重，26日遗憾离世。父亲给网友留言“毅玲的命太苦了，也许这样就不用打针吃药了”。
