资料显示，江小群，男，汉族，1965年2月生，湖北红安人，1998年9月加入中国共产党，1989年6月参加工作，研究生学历，理学硕士，副研究员。曾任建设部综合财务司副司长，住房和城乡建设部计划财务与外事司副司长，四川省住房和城乡建设厅副厅长（挂职），住房和城乡建设部法规司司长、人事司司长兼直属机关党委副书记。2023年12月任住房和城乡建设部总工程师。
