据《联合报》，台积电创始人张忠谋11月21日接受采访时表示，台积电会在5奈米厂第一阶段设立后在美国设立目前“最先进”的3纳米晶圆厂，这将是台积电在美国亚利桑那州厂的第二阶段计划。台积电亚利桑那州5纳米厂预计2024年量产。
