据《香港经济日报》，香港金管局10月7日傍晚公布，港元汇价续触7.85弱方兑换保证，香港金管局买入15.7亿港元以捍卫联系汇率制度，香港银行体系总结余将跌至1193.24亿港元。自5月12日凌晨起，香港金管局已34度接钱，共2189.61亿港元。
