当地时间8月5日，巴勒斯坦官方通讯社瓦法社（WAFA）发布巴勒斯坦总统府声明。声明表示，巴勒斯坦总统阿巴斯谴责以色列对巴勒斯坦加沙地带的侵略，要求其立即停止军事行动，并为局势升级承担一切后果。阿巴斯同时呼吁国际社会向以色列施加压力，停止其对巴勒斯坦特别是加沙地带的侵略行动，并为巴勒斯坦人提供国际保护。（总台记者 赵兵）
