IT之家 1 月 4 日消息，此前有俄罗斯媒体曝光了 Windows CoreOS 11 系统，消息人士称，微软的企业软件测试部门已经收到了新的 Windows CoreOS 11 系统构建版本。它建立在一个新的内核上，运行 Windows 11 界面设计。
近期B站UP 主 @Sayo-NY-Hina 公布了 Windows CoreOS 11 Build 22570 安装 & 试玩视频，并给出了 ISO 镜像下载，安装过程类似 Windows 8 以来的系统，居中“开始”菜单类似目前的 Windows 11 系统，还有其他设计风格。

IT之家获悉，几年前，有传言称微软正在开发新的操作系统，名为 Windows CoreOS。并且早在 2019 年就发现了该操作系统存在的证据。
新的操作系统将消除Windows 10所具有的许多过时的代码和兼容性问题。2021 年早些时候，Windows CoreOS 早期构建版本被泄露到网络上，但它没有图形界面。
不过也有爆料称，现在的 Windows 11 系统就是基于 Windows CoreOS 分支所打造的。
