中国共产党优秀党员、超声医学历史先驱者、国际著名超声医学专家、华中科技大学同济医学院附属协和医院超声医学科创始人王新房教授，因病于2021年11月30日17时05分在武汉逝世，享年87岁。
王新房教授全心全意献身于我国超声医学事业，是我国超声心动图学奠基人，曾3次获得国家科技进步奖。
