震中周边人口极其稀少，距离最近的乡镇建设乡35公里，距盐池湾乡50公里。
震中距肃北县89公里，距阿克塞县131公里，距敦煌市158公里，距酒泉市275公里，距西宁市607公里，距兰州市800公里。
