China is now able to feed 20% of the world's population with only 9% of the world's arable land. But it’s not been an easy journey. Agricultural production was extremely cut down before 1949, due to years of war and natural disasters. The 1951 land reforms led to a great increase in China's grain output over the next three decades, and since 1979 China has intensified agricultural reforms. The grain output in 2020 was nearly six times more compared in 1949 and the per capita output in 2021 is also far more than the UN food safety standard. Rural residents have seen their annual per capita disposable income increased more than 40 times over the past seven decades. In 2021 China declared a complete victory in its poverty alleviation campaign.

China aims to nurture 560 million 5G mobile subscribers by the end of 2023, and grow the penetration rate of the fast wireless technology among big industrial enterprises to 35 percent by then, a three-year plan jointly unveiled by 10 government bodies disclosed on Tuesday.
工信部、中央网信办、国家发改委等十部门印发《5G应用“扬帆”行动计划（2021-2023年）》，提出到2023年，我国5G应用发展水平显著提升，综合实力持续增强。其中，5G个人用户普及率超过40%，用户数超过5.6亿。
China's centrally-administered state-owned enterprises (SOEs) saw steady growth in profits in the first half of 2021, gaining 17.1 trillion yuan in combined revenues and a record high 1.02 trillion yuan in combined net profits, according to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
据国务院国资委，上半年央企实现营业收入17.1万亿元、其中上半年央企净利润首次突破1万亿元。
Chinese logistic giant SF Holdings estimated the net profit attributable to shareholders in the first half of 2021 will be between 640 million and 830 million yuan, about an 80 percent drop year-on-year. After a loss of 989 million yuan in the first quarter, the company expects to achieve a gain of 1.63 to 1.82 billion yuan in the second quarter. The company’s share price has nearly halved since 2021, with a more than 270 billion yuan loss in market value.
7月13日晚间，“快递一哥”顺丰控股披露业绩预告，预计2021年上半年归属上市公司股东净利润6.4亿元-8.3亿元，较上年同期下降78%-83%。在第一季度亏损9.89亿元后，公司预计第二季度实现盈利16.29亿元-18.19亿元，二季度业绩明显好转。自2021年以来，顺丰控股股价不断下行，至今已接近腰斩，市值蒸发超2700亿元。

China's latest liquidity release of about 1 trillion yuan ($155 billion) is a "regular operation" as the monetary policies in the first half of the year have basically returned to pre-pandemic normal, the People's Bank of China (PBOC) said on Tuesday. An official of the central bank's monetary policy department stressed the PBOC has not changed its stance on prudent monetary policy.
关于全面降准，人民银行货币政策司司长孙国峰7月13日在国新办发布会上回应称，此次降准是货币政策回归常态后的常规流动性操作。他表示，当前，我国经济稳中向好，稳健货币政策取向没有改变。

Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.07 percent to 3528 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.88 percent lower at 15056 points. Shares related to lithium battery plunged in the afternoon, with over 10 stocks in the sector fell more than 9 percent today.
周三股市低开收跌。截至收盘，沪指跌1.07%，报收3528点；深成指跌0.88%，报收15056点。锂电池板块午后大跌，板块中十余股收跌超9%。

Required reserve ratio(RRR)is the portion of reservable liabilities that commercial banks must hold onto, rather than lend out or invest. This is a requirement determined by the country's central bank. RRR is an important tool of the monetary policy of an economy and plays an essential role in regulating the money supply. When the central bank wants to increase money supply in the economy, it lowers the reserve ratio. As a result, commercial banks have higher funds to disburse as loans, thereby increasing the money supply in an economy.
