2019 年8月29日凌晨3时19分，接市局110警情:公平镇人民路一房子着火，有人被困。接报后，镇专职消防队、公平派出所警力及120迅速赶赴现场处置，10分钟内明火扑灭，救出二名被困者，送彭湃医院救治。 目前，相关调查及救治工作正在进行中 。
