作为山东省“八纵四横一环八连”高速公路网“一环”的组成部分，岚罗高速公路的建成将打通鲁南地区向东出海通道，对岚山以及日照、临沂乃至整个山东省都有十分重要的意义。
计划2020年12月建成通车。建成后，岚山区至临沂罗庄区最快可缩短至1小时路程。
岚罗高速全线采用双向四车道高速公路标准建设，设计时速120公里/小时，
目前，岚罗高速岚山段地面附着物已全部清理完毕。
