“耳石”是控制人身体平衡的重要器官，又称听石，在人耳内位置固定，大小只有20～30微米，这些灰色的微细碳酸性物质，黏附在内耳中的前庭内，主要功能是让人体感应直线加速度。
耳石症虽发作剧烈，但相对于其他眩晕，它的治疗很简单，不需服药，只需专业医师手法复位治疗。复位成功后，眩晕感即刻消失。
