离2019年的智利日全食还有整整一年，在东西向的全食带和南北向的智利国土相交的狭小区域内，有欧洲南方天文台非常重要的两个台站：La Silla 和 Cerro Tololo，另外服务于爱好者的远程天文台“智利望远镜”Chilescope也在全食带内。明年该去哪玩，可以说非常明确了。
