外层的气体将会在僵尸星体表面累积，当达到一定的程度时，温度和密度不断的上升，当温度升高到一定程度时，就会被点烯，因此僵尸恒星的表面将会发生核聚变反应。发生此种反应说明恒星表面的温度很多，或许能达到上千万度的温度，表面会变成气态。
