?八旗盔甲都是很厚的棉甲。制作时要先将棉花打湿，反复拍打，做成很薄的棉片，把多张这样的棉片缀成厚实的棉布，两层棉布之间是铁甲，内外用铜钉固定。棉甲对火器的防御效果非常好，即使中弹也伤的不重，而且东北冬季寒冷，棉甲还有御寒的作用。
