花旗经济学家援引9月消费者价格指数（CPI）数据，特别是核心CPI“远高于我们和共识预期”，新增对美联储12月会议加息的预期。
经济学家Veronica Clark和Andrew Hollenhorst周三在报告中写道：“根据先前的指引，我们预计美联储在10月‘按兵不动’，但在12月加息25个基点。”
两位经济学家还预计，然后美联储将维持利率不变，直到明年6月开始降息，全年共降息三次。
此前，花旗曾预计美联储将维持利率不变至明年第一季度结束。
