北京时间10月14日，武汉网球公开赛第二轮，中国选手郭涵煜2-1力克沃雷涅茨，生涯首次打进1000赛的16强。
整场比赛，双方展开了破发大战，各8次破掉了对方的发球局。郭涵煜在第三盘错失了一次发球胜赛局，但是在抢七中4-0开局，最终7-3拿下抢七，以6-4、4-6、7-6（3）的比分战胜沃雷涅茨，成功晋级到16强。
