10月12日，一份声明显示，因微软非法共享挪威“数千名用户”的敏感数据，挪威数据保护局（Norwegian Data Protection Authority）对该公司处以9200万克朗（约960万美元）罚款。这是该机构迄今开出的最高罚单。
该监管机构表示，微软的广告服务Xandr将挪威Grindr用户的个人数据转发给可能多达数千家其他公司。其已认定该公司没有法律依据处理挪威Grindr用户的个人数据。
该案最初由挪威消费者保护局于2020年立案调查。
