85岁的联合国资深大法官纳维·皮莱爆冷摘得桂冠，独揽千万奖金。不同于往年聚焦战地救援、政治和解的获奖者，这一次，诺奖首次将和平的重量，交付给了法庭之上的法治坚守者。三十余年前，正是这位南非女法官，在卢旺达国际刑庭改写了国际法准则，将战争中的系统性性侵，从战争附带的悲剧，正式定义为种族灭绝罪与反人类罪，让施暴者难逃法理制裁，为乱世人间筑牢了底线正义。
作为一名曾经研习法律的学子，求学时代我的国际法成绩名列前茅。正因有这份专业基础，我更能读懂这份荣誉沉甸甸的分量，由衷敬佩皮莱法官以划时代判例，持续推动现代国际法前行的不朽贡献。
消息传来，我心中涌起极大的震撼，更生出一份久久不散的疑惑：为何南非这片饱经风雨、历经沧桑的土地，总能源源不断地向全世界输出顶尖人才、时代群星？
纵观全球各界顶尖舞台，南非裔精英的身影无处不在，横跨科技、商界、学术、艺术、法律、政坛各大领域，在欧美主流圈层占据举足轻重的地位，绽放着超越地域的影响力。
在科技与商业领域，诞生于南非比勒陀利亚的埃隆·马斯克，颠覆了全球航天与新能源行业，成为重塑未来科技格局的领军人物。

而在公共传播与健康科普的赛道上，同样出生于南非的梅耶·马斯克走出了一条完全属于自己的道路。不靠子女的光环，她以资深营养师、职业模特与科普作家的身份，活跃于欧美主流视野，成为全球范围内独立、睿智的时代女性标杆。

硅谷传奇从未缺少南非力量，PayPal核心创始人、白宫顶级科技政策顾问戴维·萨克斯，硅谷天使投资巨头、Facebook早期投资人彼得·蒂尔，皆从南非走出，深耕美国顶层科技与金融圈层，深刻影响着全球互联网与科创走向。还有出生于南非伊丽莎白港的华裔顶尖科学家黄馨祥，深耕肿瘤医学领域，是美国医学界公认的权威学者，以科研成果造福全球。
在顶尖学术殿堂，南非学者撑起了世界基础科学与前沿医学的半边天。普林斯顿大学终身院士、世界顶尖数论学家彼得·萨纳克，扎根美国学术界多年，斩获多项国际数学大奖；哥伦比亚大学知名教授夸里莎·阿卜杜勒‑卡里姆，深耕艾滋病防治研究，以突破性科研成果，成为全球公共卫生领域的标杆人物，守护着千万人的生命健康。
在全球文化与影视舞台，南非裔艺术家早已风靡世界。奥斯卡金像奖影后查理兹·塞隆，立足好莱坞，用演技征服全球观众，同时长期投身人权公益事业，传递和平与平等的理念；前美国王牌脱口秀《每日秀》主持人特雷弗·诺亚，凭借独特的视角与通透的表达，解构国际议题、传播多元文化，成为影响美国舆论的顶级媒体人。

而我有幸结识的Ron Zulu（罗恩·祖鲁），一位来自南非、扎根纽约的文娱行业资深制作人，参与了《狮子王》系列衍生与国际推广项目，活跃于纽约的文娱产业圈层。
从法治先驱、科技巨擘，到学术泰斗、文艺标杆，这片土地的人才输出，早已成为一道独特的世界级人文景观。
这份跨越领域的璀璨，也让我想起了自己深耕国际舞台、穿梭多元圈层的诸多亲历瞬间，让我深深共情这份“奔赴世界、绽放价值”的初心。
常驻纽约的这些年，我有幸结识一位并肩前行的主持人搭档——来自南非的知名主持人Vuyo。她是南非总统拉马福萨的好友，在纽约曼哈顿创办了专属专业演播室，深耕国际媒体传播领域。如同许多从故土走向世界的南非精英一般，她带着独属于非洲大地的生命感悟，在纽约的国际圈层持续输出思想的力量。

我亦曾与罗恩·祖鲁（Ron Zulu）、资深南非裔美籍音乐策划人等一众艺术家深度交流、相聚畅谈。一行志同道合之人，一同前往纽约皇后区法拉盛，专程拜访功夫影星李小龙的经典搭档茅瑛老师，跨界相聚的珍贵瞬间，皆留存于影像与记忆之中。

回望求学与职业之路，这份对世界规则的敬畏、对跨圈层链接的坚守，早已贯穿我的成长轨迹。2018年远赴欧洲留学期间，我有幸结识一位忘年交——来自科索沃的前联合国法庭大法官 Coral。他正是纳维·皮莱法官当年在联合国司法战线的同仁。深耕国际司法领域的他，与诺奖得主纳维·皮莱秉持着同样的信念，以法理为刃、以正义为炬，坚守国际公平，守护世界和平秩序，这段相遇也让我对国际法治、全球共生有了更为深刻的认知。

多年来，我始终扎根国际人文传播领域，很多次站上世界级顶尖舞台。
在哥伦比亚大学，我多次受邀主持各类国际论坛、行业峰会与专题活动，对接不同行业、不同国度的思想者，促成观点的碰撞与对话；

在耶鲁大学，我作为唯一受邀的中国嘉宾，应耶鲁政治联盟（Yale Political Union）的邀请，出席了位于林斯利·奇滕登演讲厅（Linsly‑Chittenden Hall）举办的英式模拟政治辩论论坛。这是一个极具特色的会场：现场观众以拍打桌子代表赞同、以跺脚表示反对，热烈激昂的氛围令人印象深刻。
我也曾登临卡内基音乐厅、林肯艺术中心、纽约市政厅等顶级艺术舞台，传递东方音律与华人之声；并且多次走进联合国会议殿堂，作为官方代表及大会论坛主持人传递华人视角，见证国际议事的现场。

在第六十九届联合国妇女地位委员会（CSW）大会的庆典时装秀上，我受邀登台走秀，由此创下了中国人首次站上该官方庆典时装秀T台的历史性纪录，向来自五十多个国家的与会嘉宾展示东方服饰之美。

我始终坚信，无论是从南非走出的全球群星，还是奔走在国际舞台的每一个逐光者，我们的内核始终相通：不因过往的沧桑局限眼界，不因地域的边界束缚格局，在更广阔的世界里扎根、成长、创造价值。
苦难从不会凭空孕育天才，沧桑的土地本身并不自带天赋。真正造就这群时代精英的，是岁月沉淀下来的通透眼界，是他们对于公平、正义、突破的执着追求，是不甘于现状、奔赴远方的勇气。
山河的历练淬炼风骨，时代的浪潮成就格局。无论是远渡重洋、闪耀世界的南非群星，还是立足全球、持续求索的我们，都是向着远方奔赴的赶路人。以阅历沉淀力量，以视野拥抱世界，在多元文化的碰撞之中坚守初心、散发微光，跨越地域与文化的隔阂，为人类的共生与美好，持续奔赴、持续耕耘。

The announcement of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize once again turns global attention to South Africa.
At the age of 85, senior United Nations judge Navi Pillay has been awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. Unlike previous laureates recognized for frontline humanitarian relief or political reconciliation, this year’s honor belongs to a persistent defender of judicial justice. Over three decades ago, Judge Pillay revised international legal norms at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. She legally defined systematic sexual violence in warfare as genocide and crimes against humanity, holding perpetrators accountable and establishing crucial justice benchmarks for global peace.
As a law graduate with outstanding academic performance in international law during my university studies, I deeply recognize the profound weight of this honor. I sincerely admire Judge Pillay’s milestone judicial rulings that have continuously advanced the development of modern international law.
The inspiring news brings me profound reflection: Why does South Africa, a land shaped by profound historical vicissitudes, continuously nurture top talents and world‑class elites who influence the globe?
South African elites excel across technology, business, academia, art, law and global governance, occupying core positions in Western mainstream circles and delivering worldwide influence.
In technology and business, Elon Musk, born in Pretoria, South Africa, has revolutionized global aerospace and new energy industries, reshaping the future of global technology.
In public communication and health science, Maye Musk, also South African‑born, has built an independent and extraordinary career. Beyond family fame, she stands as a globally respected nutritionist, professional model and science communicator, representing wisdom and independence for modern women worldwide.
South African talents have long empowered Silicon Valley’s innovation ecosystem. David Sacks, core founder of PayPal and senior White House tech policy advisor, together with Peter Thiel, top Silicon Valley investor and early Facebook stakeholder, both originated from South Africa and profoundly shaped global internet finance and technological innovation. Dr. Patrick Soon‑Shiong, a prestigious Chinese‑American medical scientist born in South Africa, has made groundbreaking achievements in global oncology research.
In top global academic institutions, South African scholars support the development of fundamental science and public health. Princeton University’s lifelong academician Peter Sarnak is a world‑leading number theorist with numerous international academic awards. Columbia University’s distinguished professor Quarraisha Abdool Karim has dedicated her career to AIDS prevention, becoming a pioneering figure in global public health protection.
South African artists dominate global cultural and entertainment industries. Oscar‑winning actress Charlize Theron spreads equality and humanitarian values through her works and public welfare endeavors. Trevor Noah, former host of The Daily Show, interprets international affairs with unique perspectives, becoming one of the most influential media figures in the United States.
I am fortunate to know Ron Zulu, a New York‑based senior entertainment producer from South Africa, who participates in derivative projects and global promotion of The Lion King series in New York’s cultural industry circle.
From judicial pioneers and tech giants to academic masters and cultural ambassadors, South Africa’s continuous output of global talents has become a remarkable worldwide humanistic landscape.
The brilliance of cross‑border South African elites resonates deeply with my own international experience and my persistent pursuit of realizing value on the global stage.
During my long‑term residence in New York, I have built a sincere friendship with Vuyo, a renowned South African host and my professional partner. A close friend of South African President Ramaphosa, Vuyo runs a professional media studio in Manhattan, New York. Like numerous outstanding South African talents, she integrates African life insights into international communication and spreads powerful ideological influence in global circles.
I have also enjoyed in‑depth exchanges and gatherings with Ron Zulu and other South‑African‑American music planners. A group of like‑minded people traveled together to Flushing, Queens, for a special visit to Ms. Mao Ying, the legendary kung‑fu movie star and long‑time partner of Bruce Lee. These precious moments of cross‑cultural connection remain vivid in my memory.
Looking back on my education and career, this respect for global rules and commitment to cross‑cultural connection has run through my journey. During my studies in Europe in 2018, I was fortunate to develop a friendship with Coral, the former UN Kosovo judge. He was a colleague of Judge Navi Pillay during their time together in the United Nations judicial system. Both shared the same belief: to uphold justice through law and to safeguard peace through international legal order. This friendship gave me a deeper understanding of international law, global cooperation, and the shared responsibility of building a more peaceful world.
Over the years, I have been committed to international cultural exchange and have stood on many of the world’s most prestigious stages.
At Columbia University, I have been invited on multiple occasions to host international forums, industry summits, and special events, bringing together thinkers from different fields and countries to exchange ideas and build connections.
At Yale University, as the only Chinese guest invited to this event, I was invited by the Yale Political Union to attend their British‑style simulated political debate forum held inside Linsly‑Chittenden Hall. It was a spectacular venue where audiences showed approval by pounding tables and voiced opposition by stomping their feet. The passionate atmosphere is still fresh in my me
I have also stepped onto the premier stages of Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, sharing melodies and the voice of Chinese culture with global audiences. On multiple occasions, I have entered United Nations conference halls as a representative, offering a Chinese perspective and observing international diplomacy in action.

I firmly believe that whether we are talking about the global figures who have emerged from South Africa or individuals who walk the international stage today, we are driven by the same inner spirit: not to be limited by past hardships or geographical boundaries, but to grow roots, develop, and create value in a wider world.

At the celebration fashion show of the 69th UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Conference, I was invited to walk the runway. This marked a historic milestone, as I became the first Chinese person to appear on this official‑event runway, presenting the beauty of Eastern attire to delegates from more than fifty nations.

Suffering does not automatically produce talent, and a land shaped by history does not guarantee global influence. What truly enables these outstanding individuals is the clarity and perspective forged through experience, the relentless pursuit of fairness, justice, and progress, and the courage to go beyond familiar horizons.
Hardship can refine character, and the rhythm of the times can shape vision. Whether we are South‑African‑origin talents shining on the world stage or individuals committed to global exchange, we are all travelers moving toward a larger horizon. With experience as strength and vision as guidance, we can hold firm to our values in a diverse world, build bridges across cultures, and continue working toward a more peaceful and shared future.
