10月8日，据财闻海外资讯，韩国总统李在明周四在首尔与埃及总统阿卜杜勒·法塔赫·塞西（Abdel Fattah al-Sisi）举行峰会前的开场致辞中表示，韩国与埃及已将双边关系提升为战略伙伴关系。
李在明还表示，希望两国能启动关于实施《全面经济伙伴关系协定》（CEPA）的谈判。
