10月7日，有消息称，台积电正在探讨参与埃隆·马斯克位于得克萨斯州的“Terafab”芯片项目。马斯克随后回应称，该工厂将由公司自行建设和运营，“对此不存在任何疑问”。他表示，如果台积电有意，可以租赁Terafab的部分产能，但不会有更多参与。
