电动自行车锂电池起火迅猛、温度高且易复燃，同时释放大量有毒烟气。将车辆或蓄电池带入电梯、进屋或在室内充电，烟气会迅速封死逃生通道。未在指定位置充电、使用劣质充电器、改装大容量电池等现象普遍。这也是近年来居民火灾和人员伤亡事故的高发领域。
