2026年9月15日，澳新食品标准局发布412-26号公告，拟批准将植物甾醇、植物甾烷醇及其酯作为新型食品添加到面包中，最大添加量为2.2g。
同时明确指出只有在满足以下所有条件的情况下，方可向面包中添加植物甾醇：
每份面包所含膳食纤维不低于2g；
每100g面包所含钠不超过380mg；
植物甾醇当量总含量每份不低于0.8g，且不超过2.2g。
