As the curtain rises on the 48th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai, skilled competitors and guests arrive from all over the world. Beyond the action in the arena, overseas WorldSkills guests can explore a city experience checklist created exclusively for them.
In the arena, young people from around the world put their skills to the test. Beyond it, eight check-in experiences invite you to discover a Shanghai where tradition and modernity coexist, and take home memories of craftsmanship, warmth, and technology.
3 | Night Tour of an International Light and Shadow Wonderland
To discover Shanghai after dark, step into a citywide celebration of light and shadow.
The 48th WorldSkills Competition coincides with the third Shanghai International Light Festival in 2026. With one main venue, 16 satellite venues, and 158 themed events, the festival uses light art across the city to connect the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek, century-old buildings, waterfronts, and shopping districts. Together, they offer visitors from China and abroad an immersive night tour without borders.
The main venue in Huangpu District spans ROCKBUND and Yanzhong Green Space, both prime stops for an evening out. At Yanzhong Green Space, greenery and light form a rare continuous forest corridor in the city center, with a new view at every turn. The facade of Shanghai Concert Hall becomes a giant canvas for an immersive music and light show, bringing its century-old architecture together with moving images and music. Nearby, interactive projections on the Telecom Building invite visitors to become part of the display.
At ROCKBUND, works by artists from more than ten countries unfold among historic buildings along Suzhou Creek. Century-old Western-style architecture and contemporary digital light art bring past and present, East and West, together in a celebration of Shanghai's openness. Themed cruises offer another perspective: from the water, guests can take in the illuminated riverbanks and the many layers of Shanghai’s nightscape.
Each satellite venue has its own highlights. Jing’an Park becomes an urban light art park, hosting the "City Blind Box" exhibition and the Jing’an International Light Art Competition. At West Bund Dream Center in Xuhui, new works by leading international new-media artists create a walk-through art experience. Pudong’s Qiantan Park Lane features an 800-meter forest-lit street and an original cat-themed projection show on gauze screens, while the Sun Valley at River Mall EXPO hosts a kilometer-long light corridor. At“The Grand Halls”in Hongkou, light art, rowing events, and the riverside setting reveal a new side of the waterfront. Yangpu links landmarks including the Yangshupu Power Plant Ruins Park and the WorldSkills Museum in a riverside light trail accompanied by music festivals.
The festival is free and open to the public. Reservations are required for the main performances, while outdoor light installations along the waterfront can be visited freely. This autumn night tour is both a visual spectacle and a chance to discover Shanghai’s distinctive romance. Long after the lights go out, the memories will stay with visitors from afar.

打卡任务 3｜夜游一场国际光影奇境
读懂上海的夜色，最好的方式，是赴一场全城盛放的光影盛宴。
第48届世界技能大赛恰逢2026第三届上海国际光影节。此次光影节共设置1个主会场、16个分会场，落地158场主题活动，用全域光影艺术，串联一江一河、百年建筑、滨江水岸与都市商圈，为海内外来宾呈现一场无国界、沉浸式的城市夜游体验。
黄浦区核心主会场涵盖洛克・外滩源与延中绿地两大片区，也是外宾夜游打卡的首选地。延中绿地打造市中心罕见的连片城市森林光影廊道，绿植与光影交织，移步换景、步步皆景。上海音乐厅外立面变身巨型光影画布，上演沉浸式音乐光影秀，百年古典建筑与流动光影、韵律音乐相融，氛围感十足。一旁的电信大楼互动投影装置，打破传统观赏模式，让游客亲身参与光影互动。
外滩源片区主打国际艺术氛围，汇聚全球十余国艺术家的光影作品，在苏州河畔的历史老建筑间铺展开来。西式百年建筑搭配新潮数字光影，古今碰撞、中西交融，完美诠释海派城市的包容气质。专属主题光影游船同步上线，宾客可泛舟江上，从水上视角俯瞰两岸流光，沉浸式感受上海夜景的层次与浪漫。
各大分会场各有特色、亮点纷呈。静安区把静安公园升级为城市光影艺术公园，推出“城市盲盒”光影展映以及静安国际光影艺术大赛；徐汇西岸梦中心布置国际顶尖新媒体艺术家驻地新作，打造先锋行进式观演空间；浦东新区将在前滩公园巷打造800米森林光影长街与原创猫咪IP 纱幕投影秀，世博源阳光谷搭建千米连贯光影长廊；虹口区在北外滩“世界会客厅”，结合一江一河资源、赛艇赛事与科技光影展现滨水新风貌；杨浦区串联杨树浦电厂遗址公园、世界技能博物馆等滨江地标，联动音乐节打造滨江光影带……
整场光影盛会免费向公众开放，核心展演采取预约制，滨江沿线户外光影装置可随心游览、自由打卡。这场金秋光影夜游，不仅是一场视觉盛宴，更是一次读懂上海、拥抱海派浪漫的城市之旅。短暂的光影盛会，将化作长久的城市记忆，留存每一位远道而来的宾客心底。
