韩国央行9月21日发布声明称，“韩国央行韩元国际汇款网络”（BOK Won International Wire Network）系统于当地时间上午9点开始试运行，合作方包括四家本地银行：国民银行、友利银行、韩亚银行和新韩银行。全面实施计划于明年1月进行，海外银行将在该网络正式启动后加入。
该网络将24小时运行，从每个工作日上午9点至次日上午9点，周末和公共假日关闭。该系统将使离岸投资者能够利用其本国“韩元业务注册外国机构”（RFI-K）开设的账户，与其他外国投资者自由进行韩元交易。
