9月17日，美国一架飞往墨西哥的航班发动机突然喷出火焰的画面曝光。
事发14日，报道称，这架飞机从拉斯维加斯起飞后返航，机组人员报告称发动机疑似起火。
据报道，飞机着陆后未发现明显烟雾或火情，乘客和机组人员均未受伤。
