9月17日，谷歌宣布与瑞典钢铁企业Stegra合作，推动其位于瑞典博登的大规模绿色氢基近零排放钢铁工厂投产。Stegra将使用可再生电力生产绿色氢气，以氢气替代煤炭处理铁矿石。根据协议，谷歌将在Stegra首年生产的钢材中获得对应最多9.1万吨钢材的环境属性证书（EAC）。谷歌预计，将低碳钢等材料用于数据中心基础设施，可使其隐含碳排放降低最多40%。
