当地时间9月14日，Waymo在官网博客发文称，公司已与日本交通（Nihon Kotsu）和GO已达成协议，共同筹备于2027年在东京推出无人驾驶网约车服务。
Waymo表示，时间表取决于能否获得国家和地方当局的监管批准，以及完成对Waymo技术和联合运营的持续验证。该服务将可通过GO和Waymo两款应用使用，初期先以一定规模的车队启动，随后逐步扩展至约100辆车，覆盖东京主要街区。
