9月2日，有记者就尼泊尔泥石流灾害中具体失联人员数量提问。外交部发言人郭嘉昆回应称，目前灾害排查出261名失联外籍人员，涉及23个国家，有近百名中国公民在尼泊尔受灾地区失联。
