据彭博社记者马克·古尔曼 (Mark Gurman) 报道，苹果内部已经对即将推出的可折叠 iPhone 的 Apple Pencil 进行了原型设计、测试和考虑。但他表示，这款配件最终上市的可能性不大。
古尔曼在今天发布的 Power On 新闻简报中指出，为可折叠 iPhone 测试的 Apple Pencil 比 iPad 版本更短。他还表示，这款 Apple Pencil 的设计理念是利用磁力吸附在设备侧面进行充电。
史蒂夫·乔布斯在 2007 年发布初代 iPhone 时，曾公开嘲讽智能手机手写笔。
苹果预计将在 9 月 10 日的发布会上正式推出这款可折叠 iPhone，有传言称该设备将被命名为 iPhone Ultra。
