8月31日消息，韩国SK海力士正研究在日本合资建设存储芯片工厂的可行性，以应对人工智能（AI）热潮带来的存储需求增长，同时控制生产成本。SK集团董事长崔泰源表示，公司正在日本各地寻找合适选址，首要考虑因素是“充足的电力和水资源”，但尚未透露潜在合作伙伴及具体地点。
