外交部发言人林剑8月17日在例行记者会上表示，中方关注印尼地震灾情，对遇难者表示深切哀悼，向遇难者家属和受伤人员表示诚挚慰问。中方愿根据印尼方面需要提供积极协助。
林剑说，据了解，有个别中国公民在地震中受伤。中国驻登巴萨总领馆已启动领事保护应急机制，为受伤人员提供协助。（新华社）
