当地时间8月17日凌晨4时42分左右，位于韩国东南部的庆尚南道巨济市一处公寓附近发生山体滑坡。公寓一层被掩埋。
赶到现场救援的警察和消防救援队员从被掩埋的一层公寓中救出了2名居民。另有一名处于心脏骤停状态的居民被发现，这名居民在被送往医院后被判定已死亡。
