当地时间8月12日，以色列国防部长卡茨在黎巴嫩南部再次扬言，“以军不会从黎巴嫩南部‘安全区’撤离”，“以军在此是为了保护以色列北部居民，保卫自己的军队”。卡茨还称“无论是在黎巴嫩、叙利亚还是（巴勒斯坦）加沙地带，在任何情况下，以军都不会撤离”。
