8月11日，谷歌宣布将在美洲地区扩大全球网络基础设施，推出Alisios、Canoa和OlaLuz三条新的海底光缆系统，并新增Firmina海底光缆多米尼加共和国分支。这些项目将与此前投资建设的Curie、Nuvem和Sol等光缆共同组成“美洲互联”网络。
