7月24日，美国电信运营商威瑞森（Verizon）首席执行官丹·舒尔曼（Dan Schulman）表示，公司已与谷歌达成一项价值超过10亿美元的暗光纤连接协议，为谷歌数据中心提供网络连接服务。舒尔曼在Verizon公布二季度业绩后的电话会议上表示，公司预计年底前还将宣布其他合作协议，相关交易合计将在未来数年带来数十亿美元收入。
