美加墨世界杯小组赛，南非队在揭幕战0-2负于墨西哥的情况下，逆风翻盘，成功力压韩国队小组出线。
南非队的小组赛都在东道主墨西哥的本土进行，在小组出线后，他们将前往美国的洛杉矶，迎战另一支东道主加拿大队。
加拿大队原本有望留在本土，但他们最后一轮失去了小组头名，只能将温哥华让给瑞士备战，前往洛杉矶与南非进行1/16决赛对决。
