毛骏皓:在美伦,一个“自造者”的AI探索之路被彻底点燃

当大多数高中生还在为考试焦虑时,美伦国际高中的毛骏皓(Anson)已经在科学社里调试机器人代码、用AI跑完两三天不间断的程序、低成本制作出A-level学习笔记网站。

While most high school students are still worrying about exams, Anson Mao is debugging robot code in the science club, running AI programs continuously for days, and building an A-Level study notes website at minimal cost.


这个从普高转学而来的男孩,身上有一种少见的“自驱力”——他不是被动接受知识,而是在主动“创造”,而美伦,正是让他这股能量彻底释放的地方。

Having transferred from a traditional high school, Anson possesses a rare sense of self-motivation. Rather than passively absorbing knowledge, he actively creates. MIC (Majestic International College) became the place where this drive could fully flourish.

PART.01从ChatGPT“尝鲜者”到AI深度玩家

2022年12月,ChatGPT刚推出时,毛骏皓几乎是第一批“尝鲜者”。最初他只是用它辅助修改初中作文,但很快,他发现这个东西远不止“写作业”那么简单。

When ChatGPT was first released in December 2022, Anson was among the earliest users to experiment with it. Initially, he used it to help with middle school essays, but he quickly realized it could do far more than just complete homework assignments.

他开始用AI查询技术文档、查询电路板原理、验证自己的技术路线是否正确。“如果没有AI,我可能打开技术文档第一眼就被劝退了——两句话里有一句半看不懂。”

He began using AI to search technical documentation, understand circuit board principles, and verify whether his technical approaches were on the right track.

“Without AI, I probably would have given up the moment I opened a technical document—I'd barely understand half of what was written,” he recalls.

但他不满足于只做“使用者”。在美伦,他有大把的时间把AI变成自己的“生产力工具”。

But Anson wasn’t satisfied with simply being a user. At MIC, he had the freedom and time to transform AI into a genuine productivity tool.

他用两个星期,做了一个能自动生成A-level学习笔记的网站。流程是这样的:把老师给的PDF资料转文字→提取知识点→梳理依赖关系→生成大纲→自动配图……整个流程全自动,“按一个按钮,几天之后就能出来”。这样用AI整理出来的学习题库资料连任课的老师都赞叹不已。

In just two weeks, he built a website capable of automatically generating A-Level study notes. The workflow was entirely automated: converting teachers’ PDF materials into text, extracting key concepts, mapping knowledge dependencies, generating outlines, and even creating supporting visuals.

“With a single click, the whole process can run, and a few days later the notes are ready,” he explains.

The AI-generated study resources impressed even his subject teachers.

Behind this website lies Anson’s exceptional familiarity with AI models. Whether it is Claude, GPT, DeepSeek, or their various versions and architectures, he can readily discuss their respective strengths and limitations. He closely follows developments at the forefront of the global AI industry, staying up to date with the latest insights, innovations, and research progress from leading companies and technical experts.

“Industry leaders share new ideas and updates every day—it's firsthand information,” he says.

This ability to gather information quickly and act on it effectively has enabled him to stay at the forefront of emerging AI technologies and actively participate in the rapidly evolving AI revolution.

PART.02一个“动手派”的完整图谱

毛骏皓的探索版图从不局限于软件。高一时,他迷上了硬件电路——画电路板、买开发板、写程序驱动屏幕。在美伦,他开展的EPQ项目就是研究墨水屏的不同驱动方案,甚至自己设计了一种“棋盘式交替刷新”来减少闪烁。

In Year 12, he became fascinated with hardware engineering—designing circuit boards, purchasing development boards, and writing programs to drive displays. At MIC, his EPQ project focused on researching different driving methods for e-paper displays. He even designed his own “checkerboard alternating refresh” approach to reduce screen flickering.

“硬件太花时间了,”他笑着说,“但那种‘遇到问题不解决就难受’的感觉,一直驱动着我。”

“Hardware takes a lot of time,” he says with a smile, “but I’ve always had this feeling that if I encounter a problem and don’t solve it, it keeps bothering me.”

这种工程思维在他参与的VEX机器人竞赛中同样体现得淋漓尽致。他负责编写机器人的自动程序——前15秒完全自主运行。“就是一遍遍调参数,直走、拐弯、加速度,调完就测试,来回一两个小时。”他不仅要让机器人在15秒内稳定拿分,还做了一个关键优化——让机器人在自动程序结束时,精准停在一个便于手动操作的位置和角度。

This engineering mindset was equally evident in his participation in VEX Robotics competitions.

Anson was responsible for programming the robot’s autonomous mode—the first 15 seconds of competition during which the robot operates entirely on its own.

“It’s basically endless parameter tuning—straight-line movement, turning, acceleration. You adjust, test, adjust again. It can easily take one or two hours.”

His goal was not only to ensure consistent scoring during autonomous mode but also to implement a crucial optimization: positioning the robot at exactly the right angle and location when autonomous control ended.

“这样后面的队友一接手,就能直接往目标方向出发,相当于比别人多争取了时间。”他说。

这种从硬件到软件、从个人项目到团队协作的完整探索路径,在美伦被完整地保留和滋养。他不需要为了考试放弃任何一条兴趣支线,反而可以在学校科技社、EPQ项目、AI探索之间自由切换。

“That way, when the next teammate takes over, they can immediately head toward the objective. It effectively gives us extra time compared to other teams.”

From hardware to software, from individual projects to team collaboration, Anson’s exploration journey has been fully preserved and nurtured at MIC.

He never had to abandon one interest to pursue another for the sake of exams. Instead, he could freely move between the school’s science and technology club, his EPQ research, and AI projects.

PART.03美伦的助力:自由、资源以及信任

美伦国际高中为毛骏皓提供的,远不止时间和空间。

在这里,他可以按照自己的节奏学习,可以把精力投入到真正感兴趣的项目中。他可以在科技社里和志同道合的队友一起调试机器人,也可以在自己的电脑前跑AI模型。

What MIC (Majestic International College) provided Anson was far more than just time and space.

At MIC, he could learn at his own pace and devote his energy to projects he genuinely cared about. He could spend time debugging robots with like-minded teammates in the technology club or running AI models on his own computer.

更重要的是,美伦包容了他的“非典型”。他结合个人特长规划选课,选择深耕计算机方向,他的学习方式更多是“自己看文档、看视频、问AI”,并不完全跟着课堂走。他的数学老师兼班主任徐静经常与他交流,给了他足够的信任和支持,让他得以按照自己的节奏成长,而不是被统一的标尺衡量。

More importantly, MIC embraced what made him different.

He was one of the few students in his year group who chose Computer Science instead of Chinese. His learning style often involved reading documentation, watching videos, and consulting AI tools rather than relying solely on classroom instruction.

His mathematics teacher and homeroom tutor, Ms. Xu Jing, regularly communicated with him, offering trust, encouragement, and support. This allowed him to grow according to his own rhythm rather than being measured against a single standard.

目前。他拿到了UCL(AI与机器人专业方向)、爱丁堡大学、曼彻斯特大学、南安普顿大学的录取。对于未来,毛骏皓的想法非常清晰:大学读AI相关专业,但不想做纯理论研究。“好多顶级的论文和方法,短期内没有直接应用,”他说,他更想做的是“遇到问题就要解决”。

Today, Anson has received offers from University College London (UCL) for an AI and Robotics-related program, as well as from the University of Edinburgh, the University of Manchester, and the University of Southampton.

When it comes to the future, his vision is clear: he wants to study an AI-related discipline at university, but he is not interested in pursuing purely theoretical research.

“Many top papers and methodologies don’t have immediate practical applications,” he says.

Instead, he is driven by a simple philosophy:“When I see a problem, I want to solve it.”

这种不急不躁、自我验证的节奏,或许正是他能够在这个技术剧变的时代里,保持敏锐又保持清醒的原因。而美伦,给了他最好的生长土壤。

Perhaps this calm, self-directed approach is exactly what allows him to remain both sharp and grounded in an era of rapid technological transformation.

And MIC has provided the ideal environment for that growth.
